I purchased 5 REA CLEP books: CLEP Introduction to Educational Psychology (CLEP Test Preparation) CLEP Introductory Sociology w/CD (REA) - The Best Test Prep for the CLEP Exam (Test Preps) CLEP Biology w/ CD-ROM (CLEP Test Preparation) CLEP College Mathematics w/CD-ROM (CLEP Test Preparation) CLEP Analyzing & Interpreting Literature w/ Online Practice Exams (CLEP Test Preparation)I also purchased the CLEP Official Study Guide 2012. This was only worthwhile because I was taking so many tests. It only contains a sample test for each CLEP - and there are no detailed answers. I will say I think it was helpful but I also do not believe it made a real difference in terms of pass / fail on the tests.For the first three listed, it was enough to read the books a couple of times and then take the tests. Some of the material wasn't on the CLEP and there was material on the CLEP that was not in the book. That is to be expected given the broad topics covered. There is enough material in each of these three books to pass the CLEP they cover. I crammed a full semester of these classes into two weeks of study.**NOTE** The sample tests are an important part of the learning process. There is information in the tests and detailed answers that is not covered elsewhere in the text. Do not underestimate the need to review the sample tests. They also give you good practice on timing. I considered this important for the Math and Literature tests. I was worried about spending too much time on each question for these last two. This is why I was disappointed with the lack of computer based testing with the Literature book.The other two CLEP books require specific reviews.College Mathematics: This was the toughest of the five for me personally. I do not feel the book covered the material in enough depth to prepare you for the test. It assumed you knew an awful lot that I did not know. There are drill questions at the end of each section. It would have been more helpful if they included detailed answers. There were a couple that I never did figure out. I do not consider myself math challenged but I also admit that I am not a math major. I spent a lot of time on-line utilizing other resources. My thanks to:[...][...][...]Analyzing and Interpreting Literature: I'm not sure this book really added value for me. The tests were helpful in getting me familiar with the format of the test (the printed version was all I had to work with - see above). However, there isn't much within the text that actually helped me prepare. In all fairness, I am an avid reader (not poetry!!) and could have simply taken this test at any time. If you are not much of a reader this book might be a good guide on what to read. It does not contain a list of what to read but if you read the material it uses as examples, it may help. Reading this book alone will NOT prepare you for this test.

I thought this would be a guide as to what to study for each CLEP exam. It's not. It tells you how many questions there are. How long you have to answer them and what percentages of exam questions from each section.For example, for American Lit. it says 15% is The Colonial and Early National Period. 25% is the Romantic Period. 20% is the Period of Realism and Naturalism. 25 % is the Modernist Period. 15% is the Contemporary Period. Then the next seven pages are sample questions. You have to find the study material on your own.Worth the money? I don't think so... I actually got more in depth information from my College's web site then I did the test.Here's a tip. See what credit your college gives for each Clep test, then see what book they suggest for the equivalent class credit. College Comp. Clep test counts as ENG1001 and ENG1002 at NWFSC. So I looked at the ENG1001 and 1002 classes, and ordered the textbook second hand online. Cost me five bucks plus shipping, but was SO much more usefull going over the practice tests in the textbook then the CLEP prep book...I guess this would be a decent jumping ground if you REALLY REALLY knew the information already.

This gave me the experience and confidence I needed to walk in and get a 76/80 on the lit test. Well, I could have done so without it, but this is definitely a good resource for those who want to grab some units from CLEP. I also took the Social Sciences practice test and definitely could have passed that and would have had I not already gotten those credits from AP US History. The only weakness is the language bit. The Spanish practice test did not inform me that I would be able to test out of 3 Spanish classes (by one point), which luckily I did. Of course, that's because the oral part is missing from this book, which is unavoidable but a big limitation.

I used this book to help me study for the Introductory Psychology CLEP. I passed with a 66 after about ten hours of studying and previous non-credit, classroom experience. I was disappointed that there was only one practice test, but that one test was good preparation for the actual exam. The breakdowns of test content and tips on studying/ test taking were also a good resource, though much of it could be found online for free.I recommend buying another subject specific book. I used Barron's AP Psychology and Psychology (Cliffs Quick Review). Barron's had short quizzes at the end of every chapter, which definitely helped me know which subject areas I needed to study more.

A PATH TO SUCCESS! If anyone wants to move ahead quickly in satisfying college basics this is a great tool for success. CLEP testing allows students to save on tuition and accelerate completion of college basics that may be repetitive information covered in the High School Advanced Placement materials. Anyone can study for free online through youtube videos posted by colleges and universities across the nation. If you are self-motivated, not waiting for someone to do your work for you, this is a path to success. Great Resource.

So, I bought this newer study guide to gain some more insight into the American literature exam. Hopefully to see some different questions, well the exact same questions and answers from the 2010 Official CLEP Study guide are in the 2011 official study guide. I didn't check the other sections, but I'm pretty sure the whole thing is a reprint of the 2010.I'm going to compare my 2010 copy verse a 2012/2013 at a local bookseller and see if the questions match up there as well. If they do I'm going to come back, edit my post, and send the College board a snarky letter.

I have followed all the Brownstone books including those about Alison. I had high hopes for this series, but have to admit my enthusiasm was dimmed by introduction of the AMD disease affecting Alison. I am not sure I want to follow future books if this is going to affect Alison's magical powers.

I really enjoyed the School of Necessary Magic series and so was looking forward to Alison’s story. Now that it’s here I have mixed emotions. The characters are great (really like Hana!) but the AMDS thing is weird and the consequence of having used her Drow wish was unexpected. I hope the series gets to the bottom if the disease bit sooner than later and those who developed it get what’s coming to them.

Alison is kicking around trying to decide what she wants to do with her life. She tried bounty hunting. She tried tomb raider game. Now she is trying private security jobs. Unknown to her, she has been attacked by someone of influence and power who believes Earth should be for humans only, no magic. His team is behind the AMDS Virus. Her magic is slowly being affected. Meanwhile, she continues to fight bad guys, successfully complete retrieval jobs, rescue good people, and move clear across the country to establish herself in Seattle. Lots of action in this story! Some networking and meeting people who will be, I'm assuming, important in later books in Alison's story. Wonderful beginning to a new series. I enjoyed it loads and loads!

Yes, i did read the SoNM series before i came here and they introduced me to Alison. Wasn't overly fond of them, but I'm not their targeted demographic.However, even with this series being marketed as YA, Ms Barens has completely enthralled me with the continuing saga of Ms Brownstone. I look forward to her further adventures!

Wow! This new series with Alison Brownstone on her own is off to a rowsing good start. Dark mages? Check. Psychotic terrorists? Check. Murderous billionaire with a contract out on her hot client? Check. Throw in a kitsune roommate, a mysterious annoying hacker, and an attractive rich benefactor and you won't want to miss this one. Thank you Judith Berens for bringing us this new excellent Alison series. 🤗

Okay, I sort of sped read through Allison’s adventures in the School of Necessary Magic. The books were good but a bit too juvenile for my taste. But, the first book in Allison Brownstone’s solo adventures, Her Fathter’s Daughter, moves the story to the next level. The first 2 books have everything you could want in a series - action, great storytelling, growing challenges for the heroine, interesting allies and increasingly nasty villains. The Allison Brownstone story is now every bit as interesting and kick ass as her father’s, James Brownstone. A great read and a welcome addition to the Brownstone universe. Highly recommended and 5 stars all the way. Can’t wait for the series to continue. Kudos to the author for ramping things up to the next level.

Love the fact that Alison is now an adult. Wonderful character in Hanna the nine tailed fox! I wish that she would have been able to keep her soul sight but maybe she can adapt in some way? The Seattle connection is good and I cannot wait to see how she builds her team around her hacker Tahir and Hana. I will be following this one of course,

The textbook itself is fine-- it's the one required for my class so I don't really get a choice.I really like the looseleaf version, though. Here's why: my professors don't always have us read chapters in order to match the lessons. So what I do is I keep the textbook in one binder and my class notes in another, tabbed binder that's organized by lesson. As I do the reading for class, I move the relevant chapters to the divider with the notes from the corresponding lesson. This way it's easier to find everything without having to page through the entire book. Definitely a plus over the traditional, bound textbooks. The quality of the paper is fine though I have noticed that the pages are getting a bit strained around the hole punches. It would be worth it for the company to look into how to reinforce the pages there.

The description of the product claimed that the book and Pearson access code would be brand new. However, when the package arrived, the seal for the Pearson eText Access Card was already broken. When I attempted to use the online access code, the Pearson website said that the code had already been used and told me to buy another one.

My teacher is using the latest addition of this book but it cost $130 so I decided to order this version from Amazon for $17 and it has exactly the same information that he is teaching us from his book. This was one of the smartest decsions I could have made.

This book was very helpful in explaining concepts that I did not grasp from the lectures. Very informative graphs and example problems. When I didn't understand something in the class, I was able to read the book and completely understand the concepts. This book wasn't required for my course, but it was a VERY good decision to purchase it. I used it a often, and it paid off as I made an 'A'. This was not a simple course at my university either. Definitely worth the purchase!!

The book itself was very nice. It had some laminated pages which I thought were really interesting. It came fast and in good condition. I would definitely recommend it to any college student like myself or anyone interested in macroeconomics.

Easy to read and was required for my class. I really like the structure of this book and how well organized the chapters were. If you need this for your class or you just want to learn a little about Microeconomics this is the book for you

Far cheaper than the bookstore rental, plus came in great shape. Definitely saved money when I was tight on cash in the summer session.Content-wise, I can see why the professor chose it. The rental period lasted longer than the course, so I had a month and a half or so of extra time. It goes into good depth and is actually pretty digestible.Highly recommend purchasing this way. After all, a fundamental econ assumption is that given the choice between two very similar goods, people go for the cheaper option :^)

I heard about this book on Sirrus Urban View as William was being interviewed, just looking for information on how to invest my money. When I read it, it was so much more; this book breaths life to the common man or woman. I like that his business life is industry agnostic, with a developed strategy around expansion. What would be interesting to read in a "2.0" book are the specifics around recognizing opportunity, and deal structuring.
