This book is great for people who have little to no technical experience.If you are tech savvy or pick up software easily, there is no reason to buy this book.This book only covers a few topics - creating an image with scheduling, restoring the image, and a few troubleshooting tips.I bought it because I expected it to be a book on all features of Macrium Reflect.This software has a lot of features and a huge user guide in their knowledge base.I was looking for a book that put it all together ... I guess my only option for that is to download the user guide in pdf format (which you can do for free).Another downside is the current version is 7 ... not a huge deal because it works basically the same, but there are some differences.For $25 I expected a book with all of the features described, not just the minimum features needed to use the program for image backups.
Simply a concisely written book sparingly simple enough to understand and to fully use Macrium Reflect back up software program .For a old crusty senior citizen as myself, who really appreciates simplicity dealing with the complex world of personal computers at provides me just the right amount of information and education to totally complete an image backup and associated files without the loss of temper in the process. I know some folks might think and may even suggest that there has to be more to this to make it a complete volume of instruction but I totally beg to differ with you. This works, it's simple, a quick read, and definitely well worth the money.
This excellent book takes the reader through a step-by-step process of backing up with Macrium Reflect.It's useful for both beginners and advanced users of personal computers. Leo explains how to use the softwareand the concepts of backing up. If you read articles on backing up it can seem complicated, but this book makesit easy to understand and do.When you buy this book and register at the author's web site, you can download the e-version of the book for free,and ask the author questions, which is a nice bonus. I highly recommend this book and Macrium Reflect.
Simply no fancy words here dealing with the book review. Facts are this is a very simple right to the point book that describes the full advantages of the newly issued backup software Macrium Reflect 6. I personally read a number of books that Leo Notenboom has written and they all pretty much the same format, thankfully once again simple ,Precise, and well illustrated.Also if you're not aware Leo has a Facebook page that is very up to date dealing with a number of PC primarily topics, along with the newsletter.
I have been wanting to begin backing up my computers in a way that gives me peace-of-mind that my back-ups will actually be useful in the event of a system failure or malware infection. This book helped me to quickly move forward and get the job done. I now have assurance that a hard drive failure or virus will not cause a loss of my valuable data. I am backed up and truly SAVED!
SAVED! Indeed! I have been waiting for my PC to be upgraded to Windows 10 and was concerned if everything I have on my PC would be saved during the transition. I am comfortable with computers, but I cannot say I have enough knowledge as to how handle everything. The book is an excellent guide, user friendly for all levels of knowledge in electronics. I have ended up with a solid back up.
Leo saves us a lot of time by specifying the exact steps for the different tasks. He also gives his recommendations. I've ended up doing it a little differently than he does, but having his discussion and steps made the transition easy.
