When you buy something like this I see only two ways to judge it. 1- are you doing it and 2- does it help. The book is clear enough in most places that I can do the moves. Note that I'm a lifelong weight lifter turned golfer in mid-life so exercise instruction I understand.This is not a general fitness or bulk up book. This is work to improve muscles involved in the golf swing. I will note right away that I think this book has helped with some back pain I've had on and off for 20 years already.Does it help my golf game? Well it is July 2018, the reality is I will find out in March 2019 when the season starts. Like any conditioning program this is not a get rich quick scheme. I've seen enough positive about the authors ideas though that I don't see any risk or downside to working on this over the fall and winter. I continue to lift normal weights 2 days a week in addition to this program.

This book offers very clear text descriptions of an extensive set of exercises for golfers. It includes an assessment, similar to what Titleist Performance Institute certified trainers offer. It includes a basic set of 12 essential exercises as well an additional 20 or so that are targeted to specific weaknesses or range of motion limitations identified by doing the easy 6 part assessment. (easy to complete, not easy to do well)Reviews that complained about black and white photos almost kept me from getting this book on my Kindle, but with the exception of one exercise photo set, I found it to be complete and quite clear as to the expected movements. The author writes in a clear and engaging style which made it more interesting to complete the book (exercise descriptions are difficult to make interesting). In addition, he explained WHY some swing flaws occur from a range of motion and strength perspective. I found this content very, very helpful. I highly recommend this book.

I was looking for an exercise / stretching program that provided some kind of metrics. In other words, how would I know how much progress I was making (if any)? This book doesn't exactly provide detailed metrics (like degrees of rotation) but it does provide a set of simple "assessments" you can do to grade your flexibility. If you fail an assessment, it provides a routine specifically designed to address that failure. For example, can you stand with your back against a wall, raise both arms to shoulder height, and press your forearms against the wall (while keeping your back and rear end in contact with the wall)? I could not, but I get a little closer every time I do the recommended stretches. Of course, the only real metric that matters is my golf score; I haven't been doing the exercises long enough to see a change, but I do feel a lot looser when I go to the first tee if I do these drills first.

Forget the new 400.00 drivers, new putters and latest swing gadgets. If you REALLY want to improve your golf game you need to prepare your body to handle a golf swing. You don't have to devote your life to working out or spend hours in the gym. If you can set aside 30 to 45 minutes, 3 days a week, AT HOME, this book will get you there. After only 3 weeks, still on the beginning program, I have seen dramatic results in my ball striking, movement and stamina on the course (and I am a 10 handicap already).This is one "golf" book I think that is worth every penny. But DO NOT BUY THIS if you are not willing to Putin the minimal work required. You will not improve by simply reading this book and looking at the pictures.

The best golf specific excercise and training book I have ever read. I wanted to join a gym and hire a trainer, and I got both in this book. Well illustrarated with pictures and explainations of how each excercise should be done.

To the point , well written , easy to read , organized , great and useful content . Photos are poor quality, hard to see. Looks like an amateur took them . on top of that , cheaply printed. I only gave 4 star rating because the photos are needed to explain the exercises. Other than that , The material is great .

Exercises have helped my back

I am 66 years old, and just learning to play golf (started about 5 months ago, in preparation for retirement). Useful instructions and good tips for strengthening core muscles that are useful for golf.
