Very good guide with lots of useful information for all quest and items .Font is a good size not small like most guides released from Prima or Piggyback.Spine and pages of guide are put together very well and secure.I have The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild,Mass Effect Andromeda and FFXV guides as well as many others released the past few years with Font to small and Pages falling out within hours of use.I'm very pleased with this guide and the quality Future Press put into it.It was well worth the wait.I Added some pics hope they help

Future Press delivers a gorgeous and painstakingly well-crafted tribute to Horizon Zero Dawn in this blend of strategy guide and art book.There's a treasure trove of information in here including effective strategies for taking down every machine, quest, and hunting lodge, locations for every collectible and datapoint, an encyclopedia documenting the game's world and characters, and so much more. Even as someone who's already beaten most of the game, it's fun just to read through the bestiary, for example, and pick up on new strategies that I'd never thought of or learn new details of how the machines behave.I really love this game and it's great to be able to study it in a detailed package like this. One of my favorite sections is the in depth interviews with several members of Guerilla Games. It's interesting to read about what inspired the team's choice of machine designs and what other games helped influence its fantastic combat system.That this all comes in a full color 650+ page book of textbook quality for such a low price is remarkable. Highly recommended.

This is one serious and weighty tome full of great information about an early contender for Game of the Year. When I first received this strategy guide I was astounded by the sheer size and attractive construction. This is a beautiful book, and (I feel) made with care. As someone who owns multiple guides from several different publishers, this Future Press one really seems a step up in quality.The guidebook is well organized and tries to be spoiler-free (to mostly success). Everything - I mean everything - is described in great detail and depth, whether the enemies, weapons, armors, mods, ammo types, skills, etc. The layout is attractive enough without being too cluttered (or tiny font), and even with the rather complete filling of each page this guide is nearly 2 inches thick with over 650 pages. It's evident a lot of work went into this. For the price, it was an absolute steal and even if your Aloy is already slicing through the toughest mobs like a Ginzu, I recommend picking it up. You're almost certain to learn something new.

Very high quality guide. Very thick, well written, tons of info.I collect guides, so I'm generally more interested in their quality, layout, art and extras. I'm a fan of the big map and the lore/world section at the end in particular. Kudos for adding a bookmark ribbon.As for game info... well, it isn't the guide's fault. The guide has TONS of info. It covers practically everything, from walkthroughs to enemy strategy to detailed raw numbers. It even has an overview for the events you should go through in the game, including side content, that doesn't go deep into details or spoilers, if you want to plan a playthrough. It is very good.The problem is with the game. Since the game itself holds your hand very thoroughly, I only actually used the guide for entertainment value, the story section and a brief look at the weapon and enemy strat sections. The game points you to exactly where all the collectibles are and every quest takes you directly to where you need to go like a GPS. The few puzzles aren't taxing. I don't think I ever even opened the quest/walkthrough chapter.The guide for the data collectibles is an exception, as the game doesn't point them out and in fact they can be small and hard to find. I didn't bother to collect every data point since I was already done with the game and they aren't required for platinum, but if you want to hit every last bit of story found in these collectibles, I recommend following this section of the guide as you play the game, rather than the quest guide. I didn't, and missed out on many data points that are too much of a pain to go back and find now.Summary - very, very high quality and beautiful guide that will be great on your shelf with your other CE guides. You probably won't need 80% of the content though, but it is there in spades.

Just received my copy. This is my first Future Press strategy guide and I am very impressed. I have number of collector's edition strategy guides (hardly use them. Its just to have them as collector) and this is the first I've seen that is so detailed and informative. The paper material is of full color high quality and not some cheap thin paper. Same goes for the full size map. The paper material on wall map is thicker. The wall map is 2-sided full color and its about 23.5" x 31.5" unfolded. I like how the map listed with pictures of each machines and what page to find information on them in the guide. Additionally, the price is amazing, especially for a collector's edition version.As I glimpse through the guide, its easily noticeable that a lot of dedication, time, and effort has been put into making this guide. Its more of an encyclopedia. This guide is really 655 pages full color. Very well done!This guide is definitely worth getting.I'm waiting for Nioh Collector's Edition Strategy Guide, also by Future Press (pre-ordered). If Horizon's guide is this well made and this is their "usual normal" thing, then I'm definitely eager to get my hands on Nioh and others as well.

I almost canceled this order multiple times because it was taking so long to be released. Now I'm glad I was patient. As other reviews have mentioned, this is a very well put together and thorough guide. It also has some amazing pictures, artwork, and interviews with the game developers. Definitely worth the wait.

Liebling is a wonderful writer, and I've read this book several times. If the subject of Paris in the Twenties is of interest to you, then you will love this. It's in a class with Glassco's "Memoirs of Montparnasse,", Hemingway's "A Movable Feast," and Morley Callahan's memoir. (Can't recall the name right now.) Liebling, however, didn't associate with artists and writers or anyone famous. But he ATE. (Not expensively, but well.)

One of my all-time favorite books by my favorite writer, AJ Liebling. He took the money his favor had given him to study at the Sorbonne in the 1920s and instead spent it all on the most amazing dinners. His descriptions of food and wine are nonparei.If you liked Hemingway’s “A Moveable Feast”, you’ll love this.

I have to say first of all that I'm a sucker for all of the "Paris in the early part of the twentieth century" literature. I love Celine and Miller, but my favorite was Hemingway's A Moveable Feast. Well, Between Meals is no A Moveable Feast but it certainly is a high quality read that I can unquestionably recommend to you.Liebling, make no mistake, is a top notch writer and his sentence structure, use of metaphor, and style have much to offer aspiring wordsmiths. He has an eye for the essential and this is particularly true if you're at all like me as far as food is concerned. Liebling is a true gourmand and, even though I am completely unlearned and unappreciative in regards to fine dining, I still enjoyed his narration and memories of that splendid age.The best of these essays is "Passable" where he recalls his old girlfriend from his student years. Liebling informs us that he does a poor job in reconstructing her but his description of their romance is quite compelling. I loved that essay just as I did the one on Mirande. This is a world long gone but we're fortunate that books like this are still in print. Reading it will give you a snapshot of beauty that will hang like a Renoir in the corridors of your mind.

This is one of those books that, as you very reluctantly finish and shelve it you think to yourself "Damn! Where has THIS author been all my life?" Needless to say perhaps (but then we always go on to say it!) my next order is already in and awaited. Brilliant, witty, readable prose from a professional who earnt his keep as a columnist on the great magazine - as it once was - The New Yorker. Born to a well-off family, in the summer 1926, Liebling sailed to Europe where he studied French medieval literature at the Sorbonne in Paris. Supposedly.Having blackmailed his father into funding a year in Europe - and having spent his first year's allowance before he even left! - Liebling actually spent his second adequate monthly released funding studying "feeding".Despite a reputation based on his New Yorker columns on life, boxing and mankind's foibles it is his writing on food and `feeding' for which he is mostly acclaimed. His editor decried his claims to be a gourmet, and as was explained by my own `feeding' French mentor many years after his 1916 ventures, he was assured he was actually a gourmand. Jointly our shapes at our stages of maturity confirm this more apt definition!Wonderfully witty but actually very astute writing on restaurants, food and wine demonstrate this author's ability to ensnare the reader in his works. Almost weeping for my `long lost' Paris at the end - sated and stuffed - I put aside this greedy `foodies' pornography with reluctant glee.Great reading! Bon Apppetit!

My naive vision of 20th century Paris before the war mainly consisted of literature by the lost generation, a few extravagant paintings and musical productions, and the defiant attitude towards the conventional exhibited by a handful of demented visionaries. Liebling presents another vision through the eyes of a hungry man with enormous appetite and appreciation for good food. The aromas of a pungent potage, a traditional roast or some other species of cuisine francaise pulse obsessively behind every word, even in between meals, driving this grand odyssey through the great masterpieces of the senses. This hunger is tightly enmeshed with the cultural experience presented, and the narrative arc is akin to a classical sonata. First, the tonic key is introduced within the motif of extravagant eating - and then the story moves on through a series of modulating encounters, some incredibly hard to believe, like his burgundy adventures, eventually finding itself unable to return to its home key - unable to find again the same kind of cuisine - until a chance, and final encounter during the wartime (I won't reveal the details).I urge readers who enjoy hearty food and serious literature to consider this book.

A.J. Liebling was a brilliant reporter for the New Yorker in the 30s-50s, and a passionate lover of Paris and french food. All this comes together in this charming work.

I read and absolutely loved "Where the Mountain Meets the Moon" and was very excited to pick up another book by Lin. This book was very similar to “Where the Mountain Meets the Moon” theme wise. I didn't like this book quite as much as that book, but it was still very good.This book follows a young boy named Rendi who has run away from home and is working as a chore boy in a small village. A mysterious lady arrives and, through stories, helps both the village and Rendi find their way.There is excellent storytelling in here and interesting folklore. I continue to really enjoy the way the book is put together with beautiful illustrations and full color plates throughout.I didn’t think this story was as engaging and fluid as “Where the Mountain Meets the Moon”. This book does weave a lot of stories within stories but they weren’t as adventurous..Overall I enjoyed this beautifully done Asian-themed folklore story. Although not as stunning as “Where the Mountain Meets the Moon” it still has a lot of the qualities that made me love that book. I recommend to those who enjoy folklore and fairy tales.

In my review of Where the Mountain Meets the Moon, I asserted that it comes as close to high art in children's books as you can find. That is still my opinion. Starry River of the Sky is advertised as a companion book, but it is really a prequel to the earlier book. I didn't realize that this was the case until about a quarter of the way into the book when Rendi, an angry boy forced to be a “chore boy” at a small town inn, tells a story about Magistrate Tiger, who plays a prominent role in Where the Mountain Meets the Moon. The main plot centers on Rendi who has run away from home and has a secret past that he hopes none of the other people at the inn discover. It also the case that he is the only one who seems to notice that the moon is missing. At night he is tormented by a crying, wailing sound that keeps him awake. He is resentful and goes out of his way to be cruel to others, especially the inn keep’s daughter, Peiyi. As with Where the Mountain Meets the Moon, Lin interweaves a number of stories told by various characters which begin to merge with the main plot line. We learn, for example, that the inn is located in the Village of Clear Sky because the Mountain Spirit moved the Never Ending Mountain out of fear that Peiyi’s great grandfather would dig up and carry it away so that it would no longer block his view of the sky. As the plot progresses, we meet new characters and learn about various conflicts among the town’s residents. We also slowly learn about Rendi’s past and admit to the source of his anger. Eventually, the missing moon is found and Rendi puts his anger aside, with an ending that anticipates several objects and events in Where the Mountain Meets the Moon. Other reviewers have noted that this is a story about forgiveness. But for me, it is more than people saying “I’m sorry” or “I forgive you.” It is how forgiveness can come from resolving problems to the satisfaction of both parties who feel wronged and how the aid of others is vital to this process. Although I did not find Starry River of the Sky as moving or memorable as Where the Mountain Meets the Moon, it is an excellent, inspiring story, with great artwork. Another gem by Grace Lin. I recommend it without reservation.

There are some authors that the minute I know they have a new book coming out, I immediately pre-order it. Grace Lin is one of those authors. Not just because I love her gorgeous illustrations (I love those bright colors she always uses), which I do, but also because her stories always draw me in and make me want to be a part of her characters lives. So, when I heard about this book, I knew I would love it and I did.Rendi is an interesting character from page one. While he is not particularly likeable at first, one quickly realizes that the reason he is such a jerk is because he is desperately unhappy. But it isn't until the arrival of Madame Chang that we slowly start to find out why. I also enjoyed the way the other characters lives slowly blend together with Rendi's to create a story of stories and their importance in our lives. I especially liked it when Madame Chang tells Rendi that the reason she asked him to tell stories of his own was because she wanted to know him better and that when we tell stories we reveal something of ourselves.I loved the way the different threads of the story came together at the end. Rendi's story, Madame Chang's story, Peiyi's and her father's and brother's stories as well as that of the missing moon all come together at the end revealing the underlying theme of forgiveness. If you haven't yet read this book, I highly recommend that you do. It's definitely going on my favorites shelf.

'Where the Mountain Meets the Moon' is perhaps my favorite children's book of all time. So when I heard Grace Lin was writing a companion novel in the same style (folktales and artwork interspersed), I knew I had to get my hands on it immediately, and I hoped it would live up to 'Where the Mountain...' To be brief, yes, it did live up to my expectations. Once again Lin gives us interesting characters, many of whom are more than meets the eye. The folktales told by these characters throughout the book intertwine with the main plot line at the end of the story. The main difference between this and 'Where the Mountain...' is that the setting remains constant. It is not a physical journey for our protagonist, Rendi, but rather an emotional journey as he discovers what is important to him. Overall, really enjoyable and beautiful. I hope Lin creates another one!
