Oh my goodness!! What a fantastic start to this series. The prequel was good, but this is amazing!! I loved he mystery and all the little twists and turns.Grace is my favorite character of all of them and I loved that she could think and look after herself. Very fast-paced near the end and wrapped up with a fabulous lead-in to the next story. I can’t wait!!

This story feels like the old school Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew books I read as a kid. Normal kids with brains and determination getting to the bottom of mysteries. If they get a dog, name him Scooby!

This is a cute and well crafted mystery in which the twins get the best of the bad guys and solve the mystery. Great writing and interesting characters great start of this new series.

This, the third installment in the Mother Runner "series," is similar to the others in some features, but where it departs is where it also shines. I loved the first two for the quirky, tongue-in-cheek tone as much as for the useful advice. This one still has the funny and touching themed quote sections from "Other Mother Runners," which provide comic relief and break up the sections. The essays that comprise the bulk of the book are wonderful. They are funny, or touching, or powerful, or empowering. They are, above all, relatable. Some of these women have done extraordinary things (as we all have, when you think about it!), but inside, they are all like the rest of the tribe of Mother Runners. We are all doing our best to be our best- for our families and for ourselves. Great lessons and reminders in the pages of this book.

As an absolute fan and member of the BAMR tribe, this book was the PERFECT episode to complete the trilogy. On the first book by Sarah and Dim, I fell in love with running and became a part of a tribe. With the second one, I excelled and worked hard with their training plans to get stronger, go farther and fastest. I even join Dimity and Sarah to run a Ragnar Race with a team of other fellow BAMRs... with the third one, it all came to full circle and I was able to share the stories, tears and laughter of the tribe they have put together that makes us all Bad Ass Mother Runners have a purpose and a place where we belong. where we can cure any heartache and worry with a mile, or twenty, and where a PR is one of the biggest achievements we can have as women, same as we hit milestones with our kids or our marriage. this book gave me incessant laughter and tears. It made me feel joy and pain. Page by page, story by story...mile by mile.... You should not only read this book but the 2 before this one. Cannot wait for the audoibook.... I am training for the Berlin Marathon in September and it will be perfect companion for my long runs over the summer!

I have been looking forward to the release of this book for months. I've been a fan of Dimity and Sarah since the release of their first book. I am Badass Mother Runner. I've listened to the teasers via podcasts on long runs. I was not disappointed. This book was inspiring, motivating and funny. I found Dimity's essay one the most touching and one of my favorite essays of the book. Even finishing the book a few days ago I am still thinking of her powerful essay. Each essay different, I related to some more than others but all were entertaining and thought provoking. "A Ghost Story" by Marit Fischer spoke to me as I just lost my father-in-law a year ago and miss him so much. I run alone and find my time running is my church, my place to reflect and enter a meditative space where such visits do occur. I also loved Michelle Theall's essay "Up Down Escalator." I know the devastating course of Multiple Sclerosis first hand as my mother has MS. I often think about her and how thankful I am to be able to run, bike and swim. Michelle Theall's essay was honest, touching and brought tears to my eyes as I read. Not a fan of Dimity and Sarah...yet. Never head of Another Mother Runner. Don't know what a BAMR is. That is okay. Once you read this you will be a fan. Welcome to the tribe.

This book is a well-written collection of essays from Mother Runners across the country who have joined the Another Mother tribe. Whether you are an aspiring runner thinking about joining a Couch to 5k group, a newish runner training for your first big race, or an experienced runner looking for some new motivation, this book is for you. You will find touching tales of running through depression, marital difficulties, grief and illness. You will also laugh along with stories of what it's like to run a race naked, how to respond to someone who dares to call you a "jogger" and many TMI (too much information) tidbits that we can all relate to. This is a great easy read that you can treat yourself to, and while you're at it, pick up a couple extra copies for your BRF's (best running friends). They will love you (even more) for it!

I love the books Run Like A Mother and Train Like A Mother so I new I had to have Dimity and Sarah's third book, Tales From Another Mother Runner. And I was not disappointed. No matter if you are a mother or not a mother or NOT a runner and want to be or you have run several marathons, this book and this series is for you. I can honestly say that if I would not have found these books and the large community of runner mothers, I would not be still running after starting 3 years ago. I have never stopped training for a race since the first page! I am now training for my 2nd full marathon using Train Like A Mother Finish It Training Plan. With my running partner living 2 hours away, we train separately but on race day we stick together, I do most of my training runs listening to the Another Mother Runner Podcasts for good advice and girl company. In short I thought I was buying a book and what I actually got was a New Family! A Family of Thousands of mother runners just like me!

Short and sweet! As mother runners I am sure many of you don't have time to read a long review! All women who lace up and run need a copy of Tales from Another Mother Runner and the additional two books in this unofficial trilogy! The books are lighthearted, funny, and packed full for information for all female runners. What I love most is Dimity and Sarah, write about "real life running" as a woman or mother. Subjects way too taboo for typical running publications. I stumbled upon their original book Run like a Mother when it was first published on amazon. I loved it so much I read it slow as I did not want the book to be over. Sounds crazy but it was true. I was thrilled to learn that Sarah and Dimity continue you the fun with their lively AnothermotherRunner.com web site and social media accounts. I am so proud to be a part of this tribe. I have established relationships with fellow mother runners all across the country! This book will not disappoint...or the other two books. Purchase them all today. What a beautiful and amazing book. I smiled, I wept, I hoped, I was devastated, I was moved over and over again. Stories like these need to be told, they need to be shared, not only the tales of the unsung heroes in the ER, but the stories of those whose lives are touched by going there.Not only is Dr. Green a compassionate and insightful doctor, but he is a talented and intriguing story teller. I would love to read more from him.

What a great tale of the agony and the rewards of being an ER doctor. A series of vignettes that can be read individually or all at one sitting -- just be prepared for the giant waves of emotions that accompany some of the stories. Besides being a super read, it is blessedly free of typos, poor grammar and incorrect versions of words. Loved every minute of it.

This author has a sincere talent for telling a story. He brings you into the room and you feel like you're there experiencing all of the emotions/thrills/horror/excitement of each case. People who work in the ER will appreciate and identify with each story. People who don't work in the ER will be fortunate to get a glimpse into what emergency medicine is like. Thanks Dr. Green!

What a heart rending and heartwarming biography.Dr Phillip Green writes about his experiences as an ER physician and the ups and downs of that one room that is set aside for the most critically injured or ill: the trauma room.Through his stories in each chapter, the reader gets a very real sense of what goes through the minds and what is out into action for the cases he describes. He describes not just medical side but also the emotional and mental side as they wait for the patient to arrive to working on the patient to interaction with the patients family. "It is a place where life and death are separated by the thinnest margins...A place where what matters most in this life is revealed" (book description).Such am honest and well written look at the days, weeks and years of one ER doc/trauma doc and the real life toll it takes on him and those around him.An amazing book that is simply written yet immediately engaging and gripping. Highly recommended.

I have worked as an ER doctor for 10 years and nothing at all prepared me to read this book. It is the best and most critical evaluation of what happens in an ER and truly is a masterpiece. You will laugh, you will cry and you will enjoy seeing all dimensions of life, work and death in the ER. I love my job for the reasons I love this book. All these intense emotions and situations are distilled into the best and worst of what it means to be human.

Trauma Room Two provides the reader with the experience of what it is like to be the patient, the family, and the physician in those difficult moments when life hangs in the balance in a hospital emergency room. These stories evoke a lot of powerful emotions because Dr. Green's writing provides a first hand experience of each of the participants. This is a physician author who writes with talent, authenticity, and impact. A must read book.

I just read the last short story in this book and the tears are still running down my cheeks. "Remember This" was truly the most beautiful thing I've ever read. The story tells of the death of an old lady and those trying to save her, and her desire to pass over, and their professional need to keep her here. I can't help but wonder if Dr. Green himself had not had a near death experience in order to write so brilliantly of an old women's attempt to stay in heaven only to find herself drawn back to life again and again until at last she made the final journey. All the stories in the book were well written, interesting, and fast paced. In the telling of each, Dr. Green showed his compassion, his sense of humor, and the love of the profession he embraced. In the final story he showed his humanity and grace. You'll enjoy each of the stories in this book, but buy the book for the last story and savor each and every word. It's a reading experience you're never going to forget. I hope that if I ever find myself in a trauma room, I also find a doctor there like Dr. Green. Any time a physician writes a book, his personality and humanistic traits show through. A reader can pretty much tell not only the kind of doctor he is, but also the kind of person who lives behind that white coat.Dr. Green not only entertained me for awhile, his writing of " Remember This" touched my soul unlike anything I've ever read.

Well, I don't quite know what to say about this book. Writing is excellent, however, it is a narration as opposed to a dialogued story. Very little action except through one persons eyes. I did enjoy it but not quite what I am used to. I am used to books wherein there is interaction between people, this book had little to none. It was one man's thoughts and one man's impressions, not what really I was expecting. The author claims this is a work of fiction. Was it, or did he simply wish to avoid a lawsuit? I don't know. It certainly holds one's interest, I have to say that, but I don't think I would purchase again due to the lack of action and interaction between patients, doctors, paramedics and other health care workers. It was sort of like the author was "daydreaming". But it is particularly lyrical and well written.

I loved this book on Mr. Atkins. Here is one of my favorite excerpts from him:"I had an authentic jazz background. What I mean by `authentic jazz' is what they basically now call street dancing - things that black black neighborhoods came up with. We've been doing those moves forthousands of year.Tap dancers basically use portions of authentic jazz dance so they'll look good as well as sound good. I am talking about dances like the Suzie Q, Charleston, and the Black Bottom; things that created excitement as soon as we came up with them. Now, right away there were adaptations of these dances and they were claimed by other people and presented in places where we weren't permitted to go. But we all know where they came from.A lot of the moves that the young kids are doing now are very familiar. They have a different beat and all that, but you look closely and you see steps there from African traditional dances."I was prompted to read more about Cholly Atkins after reading Jacqui Malone's Steppin' on the Blues, in which she dedicates a chapter to him. The book was an enjoyable read, and I learned more about Mr. Atkins and people that touched his life, especially his tap partner and life long friend, Honi Coles. I was also touched by his revelations of some very painful events in his life.I had always been vaguely aware of how important Mr. Atkins was to the development of Motown artist. But I knew nothing of his life before Motown. He was at least 50 when he became a part of their team. But most of his life he was a rhythm tap dancer. What struck me is when he said the best and most innovative tap dancer since his time is Savion Glover. Now when the master says something like that, I must take note. He says Savion is an innovator. He added a branch to an ancient tree. He has taken tap further alone and has created some complex taps.I just love those old school artists. I just have a thing for classy, well dressed men and women. The Motown machine continued the tradition of class with their performers.Thank goodness my knowledge of him is no longer vague. I want to thank Ms. Malone for introducing me to Cholly Atkins properly.

Some of it you might already know. Some of it will be new and surprising.Some people have said it makes you act fake and not like yourself. That's a good thing! If you are reading this, you need advice on both what to do, and what NOT to do, since you're obviously not doing the right things. And if NOT giving advice straight away to their problems, or talking about feelings, is what is necessary, then amke a change and do it dammit. Have some self control and make a slight change in your own behaviour. You'll open your own mind, and you won't think it's chainging yourself after you do it a few times. Besides, if it helps you meet some good people, both men and women, then what's bad about it?For me, the single thing which stands out is asking a single question to women- How do you FEEL about that? The ladies love to talk about feelings and it NEVER fails to get a response and always helps keep the conversation going.Overall a good and useful read, if only for the single tip above.

What I like about this book is the emphasis and teachings about empathy. it will teach you how to be a better partner. It teaches eye contact, listening, empathy, understanding. All things that should teach you how to engage with someone better. But true love isn't about making people fall in love with you.

A very well written book that explains exactly what goes on when one falls in love, and then how to manipulate the circumstances by doing the "right things" to maximize your chances. Impressively, the book is not written in a manner that's gender specific, and in addition provides some keen insights into how the opposite gender works. That said, the male insight is a little over generalized (it was a female author), but it's still quite applicable.For instance, the section on "bedroom eyes" explains that all things being equal, the person with the dilated pupils is more attractive; the author then sites a study showing this to be the case, then explains the psychological reasons why this matters. Then, to follow up, she provides tricks to artificially dilate your own pupils during a conversation, making you subconsciously more attractive to the other person.In the section on conversation, she talks about various stages of communication people go through as their relationship grows. By listening for particulars and echoing them back in verbiage from a closer context of familiarity, it is possible to accelerate the feeling of intimacy.Very practical and interesting advice, whether you want to click with someone new or enhance the relationship you already have.

I personally like this book and think that everyone should read it. I read the paperback version back in 2005 and it was excellent. It is and has been one of the most influential dating books that I have ever read.
