Where was this book when I was training my kids? For any parent that is getting ready to start training, this book is necessary! Potty training and teaching them how to drive are the two most stressful times, this book helps with the first one. There are many tips, the right and wrong way to help your child and you.

My son is 2 1/2 and started showing signs of interest so I read the book and decided I was going to need to take time off work to be able to put the amount of effort in that this book requires you as a parent to do. Luckily, I was able to do so. Not all full time working parents can do that. However, I must admit, the method really does work! I did everything exactly how the book describes and after 2 days, my son was able to tell me when he had to go pee and would actually hold it until we made it to the potty!UPDATE - it has been over 1 month now and my son only wears Pull Ups to bed. He is completely potty trained to PEE on the toilet. Really, no accidents with the pee. He sometimes goes poop on the potty, but we are still working on that. Most parents tell me that comes later and the training takes longer. I would also like to add that my husband was not on in the same page with me when we started training and we fought alot (the books states that this might happen and training may not be successful) And I was worried. I stuck to the plan anyway. My son was making progress and I was happy. To the parents out there, we all know every child is different so let's not be so hard on ourselves. If you decide to give this book a try, I guarantee you will get out of it the effort you put in. But don't be upset if your child isn't completely trained in 3 days. We all know it takes longer than that. Good title for this book should be "POTTY TRAINING BASICS IN 3 DAYS". That being said, good luck and hope my review was helpful.

Some very helpful tips. But out was a great start. My son started to potty train right before his 2nd birthday. All the signs were there that he was ready. Only problem is he was scared to the toilet. Being home for 3 days really helped. But I will admit that after the first day I wanted to give in to the diapers. I stayed strong and insisted we were going to do this. He was harder to train than his older sister, but with the techniques from the book we were on the way. In all honesty, it took 6 months before we could stop reminding him every 1-2 hours about it. But now he knows and only have to remind him when he states to do the potty dance because he doesn't want to stop playing.Best tip I could give when he/ she is pretty much there...... Make it a condition to prelude and activity.... want to go play, go potty first....need to leave the house for errands, go potty first. In my house GO POTTY FIRST. He doesn't even fight us. No diapers since he was 22 months...But there has be a bottle of floor cleaners. Lol.My second advice is, if they won't poo in the big toilet (ie my son), the traning floor potty works better. I think they like to have their feet on the ground. I do. Have you tried to poo with your feet dangling?Good luck mommy's and daddy's stay strong. Remember you are the boss. They well get it. We all do

We loved this method. Four days in, and our 33-month-old son is completely accident free! After the 3rd day, his pull-ups have even been dry after every nap and in the morning, and he tells us everytime he has to go. There are so many different opinions and methods on toilet training, but this one, hands down, has worked the best for our son. It's been amazing to see how proud using the potty and wearing underwear has made him over the past week. He's loved potty training. I took a week off work for us to focus on learning to use the toilet. He has loved the extra time together and the few days of having mommy's undivided attention.A few tips for parents just going into it (and a couple ways I varied from the author):Be patient and sensitive of your child's developmental needs. We tried this method when our son was 25-months-old, and it only created tears, stress, and frustration. The author seems to think that your child should be able to be potty trained when YOU, the parent, decide. But if your kid's not physiologically ready, then forcing it can do more harm than good. If you're unsuccessful, don't beat yourself up. Give it a break and try again in a few months.Consider having your child naked from the waist down for the first day. I know the author suggests underwear only, but if your undivided attention is on your child, it is much easier to see when he/she starts peeing when naked than if in underwear. Naked, I was able to rush our son to the toilet after the first drop of urine. With underwear, there would be a stream of pee down his leg or puddle on the floor before we got to the bathroom.Cave in and get juice. We are usually very strict about beverage choices for our kids. Water and milk are the only options. For potty training, I bought a couple bottles of apple juice and Gatorade. Our son was ecstatic that mommy was letting him drink something sweet, and it has made potty training more special and magical for him.It's ok to tell your kid to go. The author believes you should only take your child when they ask or if they have an accident, but we have set times everyday when I make my son sit on the potty if he hasn't gone in awhile. Upon waking, when his little brother goes down for his nap, before lunch, at naptime, etc. About once every 2 hours. I think having a schedule has helped him learn to go before his bladder is fit to burst, and by the 4th day, he's been asking to go when he actually needs to, and not just when mommy makes him.

This book is great for looking up dish patterns. I have gotten many old dishes from my mother-in-law and have bought some of the dishes on auction websites. I wanted to know more about the dishes so this book came in handy. These beautiful dishes were made in the US so it's very nice to read about the people who started the company.The only bad part about the book is the pictures are a little too small, I would have liked to have seen bigger pictures, but otherwise it is great book.

This is the most recent, and most thorough book on the subject of the Harker Pottery, which began its life in East Liverpool Ohio, and finished in Chester, West Virginia, just across the Ohio River. The company played its part in helping this tri-state area become the nation's Pottery Capital from the 1880s to the present. The book will be of interest to collectors of Harker and other American pottery, descendants of the family, and history buffs in general. The authors have compiled the most exhaustive collection of Harker backstamps in existence as well - over two hundred of them, compared with dozens found in earlier books. For anyone interested in the rise and fall of one American company from the early years in the mid 19th century through the latter half of the 20th, this is a wonderful book. It will also be a great book for all interested in the changing tastes of the American consumer during the same time period. The color photographs are clear, the text interesting...I have nothing but praise for this book.

"The Romanian" by Bruce Benderson is an excellent book, better, I think, than the ponderous sex-at-a-distance "Death in Venice" by Thomas Mann. The subject matter is the same, however: a fully grown adult mature homosexual male, who has an out-of-control obsession with a much younger male. In "Death in Venice," the object of the obsession is virtually out-of-reach, and all the better because of it. In "Romanian" the target of the obsession is not only within-reach, but becomes an integral part (for a few months) in the life of the author.As in most love-pairings in real life and in fiction, one of the members of the dyad loves more than the other. In "Romanian" this fact is painfully present throughout the autobiographical novel, as middle-aged Bruce pursues an impossible love with mid-20s Romulus.Benderson's story (as Mann's) is all about the main character, an openly gay man (in real life and fiction) who brazenly and pitifully fixes and focuses his life on the unachievable conquest of the younger male. In neither book is there a satisfying union. But, is this not a predictable end that always results from the implausible and unattainable?Yes, there's a bit too much not-so-interesting history of the Romanian people, their tragic national story and their unfortunate history of weird royal rule. The author draws an apt parallel between his own life (especially his relationship with his mother) and that of the fateful Romanian Royal family of King Carol and his mistress (and his mother). Part of the genius of the book is in this uncanny though self-serving similarity and the lessons that the author draws thereby.Yes, the author obsessively goes into too much boring detail too much of the time, and the Romanian boy Romulus is a thoroughly despicable, pitiable, sad product of a society essentially gone bad.But that said, the story is filled with an engaging life philosophy, interesting author insight into the psychology of obsession and its necessary and bad decisions. Benderson's obsession with himself more-or-less reminded me of the old saying, "awareness is a bummer."On a side note, I am confused about a movie which seems to parallel in many ways the story line of "The Romanian." The movie's title is "Bulgarian Lovers." Yes, the main younger character is given Bulgarian nationality in the movie, and the main older character is a Spanish lawyer, not an American writer. But the movie's story line has many overlapping features with those in this book. Is there a meaningful parallel or is the similarity merely happenstance? Anyone know?I really hated the book's ending. The ending ruined the story. There was no satisfaction after having plowed my way through this sometimes excellent book to have it end with a "9-months later reunion" between Benderson and Romulus. Ugh and yuck.The very poor ending brought the book down to a rating of about 3.5, reduced to a 3 for its other excesses and overly detailed passages.

Not only did the author give the reader a glimpse into his personal story of obsessive love; but also the added problem of his obsession - the young man that he lusts after is much younger than him, more beautiful, and lives and hustles in Romania.There is a feeling for the reader, of impending doom throughout this book.Bendersen's deep feelings of lust/love is is made more difficult for him knowing this beautiful man will do anything for money - including sell his own body.So it begs the question throughout the book. Does this beautiful young man really like our older pursuer; or is he merely a means to an end.Romulus does what he wants, even when the author visits him every few months from the states....but Romulus always makes his body available and therein is our 'catch 22'.Benderson pulls no punches about the beautiful body of Romulus always there for him.Angst,frustration,anger and helplessness go hand in hand with Benderson as he tries to cope with his feelings of loving someone he can't control - and who has also made it plain to Benderson that he prefers women and is not gay.We are also given a parallel stories of obsessive love between Prince/King Carol I and his paramour a Jewess. THAT story ended badly.Benderson's story of his obsession, is also his total renunciation of his personal life, in order to satisfy his need,his lust, his compulsion for his beautiful boy.So we are kept wondering...will it work?....can it work?....It's worth the read to find out.Thank you to my Romanian friend, Anton, for recommending this book to me.

The Romanian is a multi-layered look behind at least two different curtains. One would be the mindset of an "old" literate homosexual regarding life in general and his cruising style and objectives in particular. This was of only moderate interest to me but might be a highlight for other readers. It really does open up the world of suppressed, pre-equal rights gay life. The second was an excellent look into Romania and the vestiges of the former Soviet Union in eastern Europe. Americans are often ignorant of the histories and cultures of the many smaller nations that were gobbled up by Soviet expansion. These countries have rich, centuries-long traditions and are different enough from our own experience to provide some startling contrasts while being similar enough to allow us to relate to their struggles, whether on a personal or national level. A good read, worth the time for its B+ writing and its A- look at history and personal relationships.

Allegedly a true story of a sexual obsession, but I wasnt buying into any truth. I believe the object of the author's affection was a composite character of maybe 3 or 4 rentboys. While the author banged out his travel articles, the lad watched TV....what did they talk about during their time together and at meals? Ultimately, the situ just isnt very interesting. Consider what Maugham did w Mildred in "Of Human Bondage." !

The unhealthy relationships in this memoir are given a philosophical gravity due to the author's deep insights into his own obsessions. While if he were a friend I would want to slap him, few readers will not have lived through similar if less dramatic self destructive romances.

Benderson's personal portrayal of obsession has all-too-familiar touches. His writing is so graceful that the angst of it has an air of ease and acceptance. Even in the struggles of jealousy, his tone is muted and floats across his personal landscape with, perhaps, an ease enabled by his favorite drug. The floating sensation of that is familiar to me. The book is a genuine pleasure to read. And easy to pick up to read again once finished. The desperate love of those who are gay/queer for those who are not is not something that lends itself well to most writers. Benderson's honesty is ..... plus, we can fall in love with this Romanian along with the author. So easily.

The basic stitches are presented using clear instructions and excellent close-up photographs. I might add I was delighted to see these instructions for both right-handed stitchers and left-handed stitchers. Piece O'Cake Designs always has beautiful quilts in their books and this is no exception. What I did find different in this was the amount of instructions. It covers everything you need to know about applique. My favorite part is the section on selecting fabrics. Great examples ranging from color values to patterns. The projects themselves are fairly small and there are only a few in the book. This is more of a technique book. (Though the projects they do have are really nice!)

I own most of the Piece O'Cake books and patterns - this one is a HAVE TO do for myself. Love how cheerful it is and the 16 inch blocks mean you can make a wall hanging in almost no time at all! Photos of applique methods are almost like being in class with Becky.

Piece of Cake designs are the ones you go to again and again. as an avid quilter of over 25 years, I am pretty picky about what books I buy. This book is great and full of designs and excellent instructions. I was happy to add this to my collection. You will not be disappointed

This book is an excellent comprehensive treatment of HTML5 and CSS3. I post this simply as a warning that you should be wary of purchasing this if you are planning to use the book exclusively on a Kindle reader on a Windows PC. The problem is that the table of contents window is virtually unusable. Attempting to expand or collapse a section tends to affect other sections that should not have been affected, sometimes pushing the desired section out of view. It does, however, seem to work just fine on my android tablet.

Yes, you can pretty much find all of the material in this book somewhere on the Internet, but chances are it will not be covered in as much detail or depth. I still believe a well-written book is the best access to fundamental materials for learning how to code. If this had a bit more Javascript and jQuery included, it would be darn near perfect, but even as it is, I give it 5 stars as an introductory educational tool.

It’s a must-read for New Yorkers, anyone interested in old N.Y. mob stories and especially the army of his fans and admirers.

What a colorful life JOEY, "THE FIXER" had. I loved every chapter and didn't want the stories to end. I learned something. I'd always heard that if you get knocked down, get right back up, but I'd never heard it said that the truly great fighters are successful in large part because they can take a punch. How true. Those words give me something to remember each day. Loved Joey's stories and love his outlook. I wish Joey success in his future endeavors. I highly recommend this book.This is the second book I've read by DENNIS GRIFFIN. He has a way of writing that makes it flow so easily, makes you feel like you are there with the characters, and you can't put his books down. I tried, but couldn't!

As you begin reading this book, you are brought to a time which many of us only know of through movies. Told in anecdotal form, each story makes the reader feel as if he or she is listening to Mr. Silvestri himself. The book is written with heart and wit. A truly enjoyable read.

Uneven read. Parts of the book were interesting in getting a basic grasp of international bank secrecy. The other parts were all about a self indulgent guy who comes across as a hybrid Bernie Madoff and Mother Theresa. In other words his reason for suddenly deciding to roll over sounds like a cheap dime store novel.His ego and self love would make Narcissus blush.Also would have been better if he named names of the rich and famous that he claims are tax cheats instead of teasing with generalities i.e "friend of Hillary Clinton", etc.

This was an interesting book for about half of the chapters. General topic about banking corruption is worth the read. The author thinks way too much of himself and this keeps ruining what could have been a decent story. My suggestion is, if you are really interested in the topic, read the book, but read it fast. Do not dwell on each word, trying to find some deeper meaning.

Really fascinating read and somewhat disturbing. One has to wonder who is really running things but I can assure you after reading the bookthat it is not "the little guy". He just keeps paying and paying. It seems to me that the DOJ definitely has their wires crossed when the ONLY person to go to prison for this huge spate of corruption is the person who exposed it. What is also deeply troubling is Secretary of State Clinton's role in settling the UBS scandal. It is unclear why she was involved at all but it her involvement certainly reaped benefits for Bill, The Clinton Foundation and Hilary. A great read, well worth your time.K.Looser

Lucifer's Banker. Doubtful that any library will ever proffer any manuscript more entertaining and revealing about the corrupt DOJ and by extension other bloated government bureaus. The take-away message from these pages is that when one is in negotiations with government authority then deceptions and betrayals loom large in the background. Author Brad Birkenfeld displays his extensive education and savvy proclivities as he transports us through the long journey from executive opulence to a thirty one month prison stay and then transitioning to super wealth as reward for exposing tax evaders.As I turned the final pages of this truly important work I found myself conflicted between exposing nefarious practices of secret Swiss banks and how it all will expand and further empower the reach of US government forces. The abuse of government authority, as detailed with intense frequency by author Birkenfeld, is always in direct relationship to income from tax revenues. The notion that increased tax revenues from any source will always be of benefit to tax payers is highly misplaced. All government agencies are permeated with waste, corruption and relentless expansion. The Department of Justice is one example of how budgets are politicized with internal vanities and greed.

This was a really good book to read at my leisure. The author told the story in a way that you could connect the dots and at times allowed you to feel physically present along his journey. I would recommend this book for those of us who have careers in finance. Although this book is told from the "victim's" perspective, I would really have loved to get the perspective of the DA or another adversary depicted in the book; but I guess that is completely up to the author's discretion. Overall, a total recommend!

While he certainly did a commendable job of disclosing the criminal activity undertaken by UBS, Mr. Birkenfeld is not your normal whistleblower who uncovers wrongdoing of others. It was him that was instrumental in this criminal activity by his own admission (as he says banks outside of CH wanted to stop the activity, Mr Birkenfeld was keen to take those clients and make his 18% of ill gotten gains which were never recouped). Thus, while I certainly believe that some reward was warranted, $104 million was excessive (perhaps something closer to 7.8 million (ie, 10%) and I do believe jail time was warranted based on his illegal activity. He was afterall, a director at UBS which brings responsibility. Should other culpable actors also seen jail time? Of course. His arrogance was off putting. However, well done for having the courage to come forward.

I am giving 5 starts for the subject the book covers.It is important that the whole world knows how this corporate criminals together with millionaires are ripping off the citizens of their respective countries by not paying their taxes. Also is noted the criminal behaviour of banks and I believe not matter how many pieces of law are passed they will always be one step ahead.In terms of the author I personally do not believe he is a hero. He decided to spill the beans when he was crossed by the bank and get infuriated by all they did to him. What he did was taking revenge becoming a whistle blower.I personally believe he deserved his term in jail even when he opened Pandora's box. He was part of the criminal enterprise "willingly" and again, he only decided to take on them after the bank screwed him big time.Great reading.

This is not really a review, I do not have the book, I am ordering it now. This is more like a rant. Now if you will all learn to read, on the front of the book it says ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY, which means it is a script!! Also, why would they diverge from how Fantastic Beasts was formatted, they are part of the same story line?!!! Please use common sense when living life. Valid reasons to give a lower review are as follows: book was not to your liking or book came in damaged, do not give a bad review because you are not fully comprehensive on the term Original Screenplay. Also I am pretty sure I will like this book like I have with all others of the HARRY POTTER Universe.

Summary: While being moved from America to England, Grindelwald escapes and starts his campaign to gather his supporters and begin his crusade to raise wizards up in the world so that they rule over non-wizards. Lines are drawn and loyalties are tested as Dumbledore and Grindelwald gather their allies. Newt doesn’t want any part in any of that, but when Dumbledore comes to him for aid he answers the call. It seems simple enough…. There are wizards that want to kill Credence, and some (Grindelwald) that want to use him. But, with help, there might be hope for the boy. If there is a way for the boy to live, and not be a danger to anyone, doesn’t he deserve that? In other news, Queenie and Jacob are an item now- with very different ideas about where their relationship is going. Jacob knows what will happen if they marry… he can’t risk Queenie going to jail for him. Queenie wants what everyone else is allowed to have- love, a family. Grindelwald tells her he wants their people to be “free to love”…. is he actually the answer? Sides are being chosen for a fight that will forever change the wizarding world…. which side are you on?My thoughts:I am torn here. I loved this screen play and I really, really liked the movie (I didn’t feel right doing my review until I had seen the movie, nor seeing the movie before reading the screenplay…. I am weird like that). That said, this was more of a plot moving device than something I can see running on it’s own merit. If I didn’t already love the series, and wasn’t already invested, I might not have even cared about this one- but it’s so important. You have your first look at young Dumbledore, already a bit of a legend if only a teacher at Hogwarts. There’s the fan favorites from the last book: Newt, Tina, Jacob, Queenie, Niffler and Pick. We also have some new characters that may be very important later- Nagini (Credence’s friend), Leta Lestrange (Newt’s childhood friend and his brother’s fiance), Nicholas Flamel, and other. Add to that, some great stuff with Newt and the beasts and I am set. That said, I feel like there’s so much more that could have been done here. It was full length for both screenplay and movie…. but felt like nothing really got done. This was necessary to introduce the key players and explain future conflict. If you aren’t already sold on this series, though…. it can be a bit underwhelming. Visually, it’s stunning… but the first movie had better graphics and was all-around more eye catching. I also don’t know how well it’s doing- well, I hope…. but the movie came to theaters 3 days ago and I had the 3D screening to myself (hopefully just because it was a Monday). I loved seeing Niffler again, and the little nifflers. Pick was great and we saw some other beasts, which I felt were well done- the movie really helped me flesh those out it my head. I didn’t like Queenie’s role here. She was all over the place…. understandably, but come on! I wanted her to be stronger, but I fear that she’ll just be a pawn. I feel bad for Jacob- and absolute favorite of mine. I did feel that Depp made a fantastic Grindelwald- he’s supposed to be charismatic, strong, a bit evil but someone that people would gravitate to. Nailed it. Dumbledore’s casting, as well, seemed to be spot on. I really liked his character. Having information from everyone’s pasts also helped flesh things out. Why doesn’t Dumbledore just kick Grindelwald’s all? Find out in this book. Who is Credence? Find out in this book. Despite not feeling like it can stand on it’s own, I am a HUGE fan of this one… but only because I am taking it as an installment of a series instead of just for itself. Three and a half stars… round up to four for the movie.On the adult content scale, there’s violence, but all things considered it wasn’t over the top at all. I give it a three.

I pre-ordered this script before the movie was released; I'm glad I did. The day after I saw the movie, I read the script cover-to-cover. It fills in details that you miss in the often-quickly-delivered screen repartee -- the ones that cause mini-arguments with your spouse ("Wait, did he say...?" or "How old would that other character have been at the time...?"). I also picked up on a few details that may or may not be meaningful in subsequent films, such as the relationship between Newt and his assistant.Don't imagine that the script is a stand-in for the movie. It isn't a novelization; it's a script, with instructions to the actors and the director.

Not worth the time to review. Clearly Rowling in now only concernrd with the money. Do not buy this garbage.

This script picks up where the last one ends. Newton meets many familiar faces from the Harry Potter books which is fun. Not sure I agree with the ending, but it definitely will surprise you!

I can't wait to see the movie. Somehow I suspect this story is better when seen on screen, rather than in the mind's eye.J.K. Rowling weaves a very good tale that is full of vivid imagery. There were a few times where I felt lost in the story, more out of confusion rather than caught up in what was being told. When I looked at the cast of characters in the movie, I was excited to see Johnny Depp in the role of Grindelwald, I absolutely love him as Captain Jack Sparrow and can't wait to see what he does with Grindelwald.The one thing that would have made this book better for me, would to have had a "Cast of Characters" at the beginning of the book with a description of who they are and how they are related. I think this missing piece would have provided quite a lot of clarity...at least for me.

Poor, poor irrelevant Jacob. His character contributes nothing to this story. For now he's just the token Muggle who could have been anyone at all. We don't know how his business is thriving and who is looking after things while he's traveling with Newt. We are clearly set up for the next installment, so we shall see if he can matter again.
